Sona and Sutu at public space

Not one, but two interactive play sets were installed at municipal sports park West, located in Maastricht, The Netherlands. These play sets combine the fun of video games with the exertion of outside play. Needless to say the public absolutely loves it!

The realization of the Yalp Sona and Yalp Sutu was subsidized by the county. Yves Schonmacker, owner and manager of the park tells us: ‘’We’ve established quite a number of larger multi-use arenas over the years. However we also wanted to create a few smaller, more compact sites for the inner city. We wanted them to look modern, and be of the highest possible quality. Both the interactive sports wall Sutu, and dancing arch Sona matched our desires. We figured they’d enhance one another – which they really did.”

Both club members and residents are free to come and play the Sona and Sutu. On a daily – even hourly basis – parents will show up with their children and dance under the Sona. The older kids play the Sutu. As the statistics show, the Sona alone has been used over 3 hours a day – every day – since the installation two months ago. It looks like sports park West is becoming the most visited sports park in the city!”
